Language Arts (Utech)
Our focus this week will continue to be on main idea. After reviewing how to identify main idea, we’ll be using longer passages to identify multiple main ideas for longer text passages.
Writing (Utech)
We will use this as a transition week to do some choice writing before moving into our next unit.
Social Studies (Utech)
We’ll be reviewing the American Revolution and learning about how help from other countries gave the Americans a victory over the British. From here, we will learn about the important American documents that set up our country. Students will be creating a comic strip to review and learn these topics.

Your student chose a famous person biography before spring break and we will begin reading those books in class this week. This may require some reading outside of class as well. The biographies the students are reading will tie into our research reports for writing class. We will focus on the skill of summarizing this week.

We will be writing about our spring breaks this week as well as learning about proper sources to get information from for our research reports.
Math (Brenner/Sharman)
We will review the first part of chapter seven, take a checkpoint quiz, and continue on through lesson 7-4 on algebraic expressions. Our flexible math groups will be changing again, so please ask your student who their new teacher will be!
Advanced Math (Brenner)
This week we will be continuing to work on percentages of a number and how to find the number for a percentage.

Science (Brenner)
In Science, students be starting their unit on the circulatory system. This will begin with a KWL having students tell me and their class what they already know about the heart and blood.

Students this week will have the choice once again to choose their own article.
