Science Test - Friday, October 14th
Students will be taking their first science test on Friday, October 14th. Students will be given a study guide tomorrow, Tuesday, October 11th.
Fluency Assignments -
Today students will be receiving a one minute read. There is a parent letter attached to the front of the assignment so be sure to ask your child about it. Ms. Utech did model for students so they are aware of what it should look like. This is to help students read with ease and decode quickly and efficiently.
Reading 20 Minutes a Night -
Students will be expected to begin reading 20 minutes a night. They can read either fiction or nonfiction. This is a great opportunity for students to practice the skills that they have been working on in language arts class. Practicing with reading allows students to become lifelong readers. If students do not have a chapter book and are interested in reading nonfiction - Ms. Utech has posted in the resources on Schoology under Language Arts - numerous links that students can select from.
*Please be mindful if students are reading on their iPad, encourage them to do this as soon as they get home from school, studies have shown that students who use devices/technology prior to two hours before bedtime - get less restful sleep. We would encourage them to read a paper book prior to bedtime if this is when they are choosing to read.
