Goal progress for Reading
In February we began to set goals for how many books we
would like to read before the end of the school year. As teachers, we set a target of 80% of the
goal will need to be met before the end of the school year for the students to
earn a pizza/pool party. We cannot
believe how amazing their progress – students have read 478 books out of our
584 goal. Our book chain is ¾ of the way
around Miss Utech’s room.
Headphones
It is critical that
students have headphones for FORWARD testing.
This is held at the end of April.
Please check with your child to ensure they have working headphones here
at school. We will start checking them
the week of April 17th.
Running Club
All students are welcome to join! The first day of practice will be Tuesday, April 4th at 3:30 - 4:00. After changing, we will meet in Mr. Miller's room 117. The purpose of running club is to train for the Cellcom 5K (3.1 miles) and/or train for the Bellin 10K (6.1 miles) OR to work on increasing your cardiovascular endurance. Students will be given a practice schedule, race information, and permission slips at the first practice. Practices will be after school until approximately 4:15 on Tuesdays or Thursdays from now until June 7. Practices are flexible - students can choose to come to all practices or only those practices that fit with their schedule. Contact Mr. Miller chrimill@hssd.k12.wi.us or Mrs. Radke sararadk@hssd.k12.wi.us with any questions.
