Updates for the week of September 19-23
Field Trip:
Our field trip to 1000 Islands in Kaukauna is next Wednesday, September 28th. Don't forget to sign your child up for the field trip. To access the form to fill out, click here. Also remember to pick up things this weekend for a sack lunch if you chose that option. We will take care of making sure we have the school provided lunches.
This weekend please take time to ensure that your child has an old pair of shoes/water shoes/rain boots. We will be going into the creek near Fox River to look for critters.
Parent Meeting:
Next Friday, September 30th, we will be hosting a parent meeting for Clubhouse parents from 10:55-11:15 without students. Students will join us for their lunch hour with you outside (weather permitting) from 11:18-11:58. If you would like to bring in lunch from elsewhere, that is an option, otherwise your child can have their normal lunch. If you would like something to sit on other than the grass, please feel free to bring a blanket or chair.
Schoology:
Please encourage your child to show you their Schoology app, to help you better understand what they are learning. As teachers, Ms. Utech and Mrs. Brenner will be posting updates of what we learned in class that day and what homework the students will have. If possible, we will link the assignment if it is a worksheet, in the rare chance a student forgets their assignment in their locker.
Planners:
Students have been utilizing their planners as a tool for organization and have been doing great with this. We have been putting reminders in their planners for important things that are due. To continue to be "in the loop," please sign your child's planner. This is a way for us, as teachers, to communicate how your child's day went, if needed.
Changes in Weather:
As we begin to enter into fall, our buildings temperatures can change based on location and the weather outside. Encourage your child to keep a sweatshirt/fleece in their locker as we move into October. This will help with recess time as well. Having your child dress in layers is another way to ensure that they stay comfortable and are ready to learn. A child that is too cold or too hot has a hard time staying focused and learning.
Tips to help your child stay organized and have what they need to be successful at school:
1) Have your child pack their bag the night before.
2) Ask if they have gym or band/orchestra - this helps them remember what they need to have.
3) Create a morning routine that helps them be accountable for their items.
4) Have them keep their items in a specific place every day so they are not searching everywhere.
So they will need to bring rain boots only on field trip day?
